Alonge is a single-fabric brand. Almost everything it makes — joggers, sweatshirts, tapered pants, shift dresses, zipper jackets — is cut from the same proprietary knit the label calls iCotton. That is unusual, and it is the reason the brand shows up in more Stylera styling guides than almost any other label without ever having had a guide of its own.
This is that guide: what iCotton is, what it genuinely does in Indian weather, the full price ladder, and which piece to buy first.
What is iCotton?
iCotton is Alonge's own long-staple cotton knit, engineered to behave like a performance fabric while staying a natural fibre. The brand's claim is that the knit structure keeps skin roughly 2°C cooler than a standard jersey. Treat that as Alonge's own specification rather than an independently verified figure — but the practical behaviour is easy to confirm yourself: it breathes more than a normal sweatshirt knit, and it holds shape far better after repeat washing.
What that means in practice for India:
- It works in an air-conditioned office at 19°C and on the street at 34°C, which is the actual daily temperature swing most Indian professionals dress for.
- It resists the musty smell cotton picks up in humid storage — genuinely useful between June and September.
- It does not collapse. A three-year-old Alonge crew neck still has its cuff.

The price ladder, honestly
Alonge is a premium label and does not pretend otherwise — ₹2,699 is the floor and ₹7,500 is the ceiling. The ladder is legible once you see it:
- ₹2,699 — the entry tier. Joggers and tapered pants. All Day iCotton Joggers, Houndstooth Tapered Pants, Yarn Dyed Rib Sweatshirt.
- ₹3,500–₹3,990 — the core. The Classic Crew Neck Sweatshirt and the 2° Cooler Black Shift Dress.
- ₹4,500–₹5,500 — the occasion pieces. Pouf-sleeve dresses and the Houndstooth Zipper Jacket.
- ₹6,500–₹7,500 — the embellished top end. Embroidered sweatshirts and rhinestone shift dresses.
What should you buy first?
The All Day iCotton Joggers in black at ₹2,699. It is the cheapest way to find out whether the fabric claim matters to you, and it is the piece with the widest use — travel, home office, weekend, and warm enough to survive aggressive AC without being a winter garment.
If you want the same test in a top, the Yarn Dyed Rib iCotton Sweatshirt at ₹2,699 is the entry point. It is lightweight enough to carry in a tote, which is what you actually need in an Indian office rather than a heavy fleece.
The women's side is the deeper half of the range
Most of Alonge's design energy goes into dresses, skirts and pouf-sleeve tops — that is where the embellishment and the price ceiling live.
- 2° Cooler Black Shift Dress — ₹3,500. The most useful single piece: black hides splash, the shift silhouette moves without cling.
- iCotton Fitted Knit Skirt — ₹2,890. Office-appropriate in a knit that does not crease on a commute.
- Houndstooth Pouf Sleeve Dress — ₹5,500, and the Embroidered Terrazzo Pouf Sleeve Dress at the same price.
- iCotton Eye Catcher Drape Dress — ₹7,500. Holds its drape in humidity where silk would collapse.
For occasion context, our women's summer dresses guide places these against lighter-weight options.

Is the embellished tier worth it?
Only if you want one statement piece rather than three plain ones. The 3D Hibiscus Embroidery Sweatshirt at ₹7,490 and the Crafted Floral Sweatshirt at ₹6,500 are structurally the same garment as the ₹2,699 rib sweatshirt with substantially more hand-work on the surface.
That is a taste call, not a warmth or durability call, and it is worth being honest with yourself about which one you are making. Embroidery also holds up better over years than a print does — prints date, texture does not.
Sizing and care
Alonge runs true to Indian sizing: S fits a 30–32 waist, M 32–34, L 34–36, XL 36–38. The knit has roughly 5–7% give, so if you are between sizes on the joggers, size down.
Care is where iCotton either lasts or does not. Cold wash on a mild detergent, inside out, air-dry flat. Hot water strips the moisture-wicking finish. Never tumble dry — heat kills both the finish and the elastane at the waistband. Never wash iCotton with raw denim; the indigo bleeds straight into a pale knit.
Alonge FAQ
Is Alonge worth the price?
If you wear the piece more than twice a week, yes on cost-per-wear — a ₹2,699 jogger that survives three years beats three ₹899 pairs that do not. If it is an occasional piece, the premium is harder to justify.
Does iCotton really keep you 2°C cooler?
That is the brand's own specification for the knit structure, not an independent measurement. What is easy to verify yourself is that it breathes noticeably better than standard jersey and dries faster — which is the practical benefit most buyers are actually after.
Is Alonge menswear or womenswear?
Both, but weighted to women. The joggers, tapered pants and crew-neck sweatshirts read unisex; the dresses, skirts and pouf-sleeve tops are the women's half and are where the range goes deepest.
What is the cheapest Alonge piece?
₹2,699, shared across the All Day joggers, the Yarn Dyed Rib joggers and sweatshirt, and the Rhinestone and Houndstooth tapered pants. There is nothing below that price in the line.
How does Alonge compare to Boozee or Main Character?
Different jobs. Boozee and Main Character are streetwear — loud prints, oversized cuts, ₹999–₹1,799. Alonge is quiet premium knitwear built around a fabric story. Many wardrobes carry both; they do not compete.
Where to buy Alonge
The full range is in the Alonge collection, shipping pan-India in INR, and on the floor at the Aurum Square flagship in Navi Mumbai — worth a visit for this brand specifically, because the fabric is the product and it reads differently in hand than on a screen.
