Cotton over synthetic, every time — garba venues get hot fast and synthetic fabric holds heat and sweat. Avoid anything with heavy surface embellishment at the shoulder or underarm, because that is exactly where dandiya movement creates friction. Skip long dupattas unless you can pin them; a loose dupatta on a crowded floor is a genuine hazard.
Footwear is the most underrated decision. Flat, closed-toe and broken-in — mojris or flat juttis over anything with a heel. You will be on your feet for hours on a hard surface.
A note on chaniya choli
